Students taking part in the Carnegie Center's middle school summer program spent some time at the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden on Monday, July 12, learning about the history of Isaac Murphy and other African-American jockeys who helped make Kentucky the horse capital of the world. The students will help design an outdoor gallery for IMMAG. For more information about the visit, click here.

The Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden took shape this summer thanks to community involvement. Members throughout the Lexington community helped us design and construct concrete pavers that will be used throughout the art garden. One group that took part in the concrete paver project was the Castlewood Community Center Fun Camps. A video showcasing that process was recently posted on YouTube. Check it out by clicking here.
